America’s Least Favorite: FIFA World Cup

Standard

Americans (well, those in the United States, at least) sure don’t like soccer (football to the rest of the universe). Along with cricket and rugby, it’s probably the least favorite sport in the states. Me, however, I am a huge fan of soccer. Favorite MLS team? Colorado Rapids. Favorite Premier League team? Arsenal. Favorite Airtricity League team? Sligo Rovers (yup, I have a favorite Irish team).

And, of course, my favorite World Cup team is the United States. I don’t think they are going to get very far. I mean, have you seen that group we are in? Germany and Ghana are my picks from Group G. Germany to win it all.

For those of you who don’t know what FIFA or the World Cup or soccer are, here is a video from the fantastic John Oliver. All your questions will be answered.

Oh, and if you are wondering what my World Cup bracket looks like, here it is. (Note: you can’t see it until the Brazil – Croatia match starts later today.
